By now you know that I love a good podcast. I love diving into a really compelling story or learning about someone truly fabulous whose name I might not have otherwise known. For me a good podcast is one that can make me laugh, think or become inspired. And, if it can do all three – even better!
Some of my favorite podcasts are those that focus on empowering women in the workplace. I always find them incredibly motivating and educational. Below are some of my favorites.
Description (via iTunes): Women face gender discrimination throughout our careers. It doesn’t have to derail our ambitions — but how do we prepare to deal with it? There’s no workplace orientation session about narrowing the wage gap, standing up to interrupting male colleagues, or taking on many other issues we encounter at work. So HBR editors Amy Bernstein, Sarah Green Carmichael, and Nicole Torres are untangling some of the knottiest problems. They interview experts on gender, tell stories about their own experiences, and give lots of practical advice to help you succeed in spite of the obstacles.
Description (via iTunes): In the Ellevate Podcast you’ll meet real women having a real impact. Female entrepreneurs, authors, business women, and other inspiring leaders share their experience and takeaways from their careers. Ellevate’s mission is to close the gender achievement gap by bringing more women into positions of leadership. Hosts Sallie Krawcheck and Kristy Wallace, Chair and President of Ellevate Network respectively, interview female leaders to showcase the immense talent these women bring to the table.
Description (via iTunes): On each episode of the Girlboss Radio, Sophia interviews boundary-pushing women who’ve made their mark—eschewing polite conversation and extracting solid advice from the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Expect hilarious co-hosts and vulnerable, honest conversations you won’t hear anywhere else. Conversations that humanize the known, champion the unknown, and laugh a little at the absurdity of life.
Description (via iTunes): Women’s experiences at work can be challenging, rewarding, and downright ugly – sometimes in the same week. The Broad Experience sparks candid conversations about women, men, careers, and success. We discuss the stuff everyone’s thinking about, but not always talking about. Leaves you feeling more enlightened, less alone. Hosted by journalist Ashley Milne-Tyte.
Description (via iTunes): Join our host, Who What Wear and MyDomaine co-founder Hillary Kerr, as she chronicles the career changes that can come at any age in our new podcast, Second Life.
