Most people would agree that equal pay for equal work is the right thing to do. And yet, we live in a world where women everywhere are paid less than their male counterparts for doing the same jobs. Even when you account for experience, education, and just about every other metric you can think of, women still earn less than men. They are also less likely to be promoted and less likely to reach the top job, making it more difficult to close the gap. If you’re a women of color, you’re even more affected.
