This week has been tough. My workload has been growing by the hour, I’ve had to travel across state lines and leave the office early to attend work events, and come home at the end of the night, exhausted and starving, to a very rambunctious 19 month old who does.not.stop. On the really bad days, I haven’t seen him at all. Such is the life of millions of women around the world who are just BUSY.
So what to do when the world is moving too fast for you to catch a breath? Stop. Reset. Do something kind for yourself. Take a walk. Buy yourself a frozen yogurt. Read a chapter of a book you’ve been meaning to read for FUN. Pamper yourself with a moisturizing mask. Buy fresh flowers. Grab a drink with a friend. Watch your favorite television show. Write a handwritten note to someone who lives far away. Cook a delicious meal. Buy yourself new, soft bed sheets. Call your mom/dad/best friend. Meditate. Make a new playlist.
The point is that busy ladies everywhere need to take a moment for themselves. Self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. It sets us up to be our best selves – at work and at home. So this is your reminder to carve out just a little bit of time this week to treat yo self.
